I am always adding on to my chicken coop or repairing something. I use nothing but screws, so i have an easier time taking something apart. I dont build or repair everyday, but id like to get a cordless power drill for myself. (im always borrowing my dads). My dad has a 14 v dewalt that i use. Ive been looking at the reviews for a Black and decker 12v, with a lithium battery.( part number LDX112C) Ive also looked at a craftsmen 18v, with a nicad battery.( i dont have a specific part number) Here's my questions.... What would be the big difference between a lithium battery and a nicad type?....and.... If im just drilling some holes and using up to2 1/2 - 3" screws, would the 12v give me enough power?..... Your answers are greatly appriciated 🙂 Thank you for your time....LEBE
And got the following answer:
the battery lasts longer without charging with lithium. the torque is usually more with more voltage. i had a dewalt 18v at work and it was very dependable.at home i have a craftsman 15v ni-cad that sits for months and stays charged they both have about the same power i have a lithium power hammer, that stays charged for about 11 months i use these about twice a week
