I have a Hp pavilion dv6, its a little over a year old but these problems started around october and november. For some magical reason my laptop will turn on again after hours of rest and il be able to use it normally again and that is why i havnt taken it to the service center yet lol. I use my laptop mostly for gaming and these problems show up usually after i play games and the laptop gets hot. And yes i have searched for answers and tried some solutions like holding the power button for about 30 secs but it doesnt work. Im scared it might be a motherboard problem, Im also hoping it might just be some loose wiring and or an inverter problem because while the screen is black i can still use it with an external monitor. Im hoping to resolve this matter with a simple solution and thank you in advance for any answer given 🙂
And got the following answer:
Hello, You could try shutting it down and when you start it up press F8 repeatedly until you get a screen with the option to boot to the Last Known Good Configuration. Try this first and see if it makes a difference. A second way to get there. Start Menu->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore. Choose the most recent date before the encountered problem. If it doesn't work, try the next date. To get a good accurate answer give the brand, model number, installed operating system of the laptop when asking a question as all PC's are not the same.
