ashleymd7 asked Best way to make tea?
I really love tea, but the only way I've really done it is to microwave the water in the cup and steep regular teabags in it the required time. Is there a better way? I'm looking into purchasing a teapot and/or kettle, which one would be better (what's the difference in taste or anything)?
And got the following answer:
i like having control over making tea. a microwave doesn't really give you that much control. By control, I mean controlling the water temp. I have an electric kettle that shuts off after boiling. That way, I don't have to worry about burning the place down. If you got a stove top kettle, you'll always have to remember to shut off the heat. different teas require different temperatures. black teas require boiling. green teas and white teas require cooler hot water. you can brew tea in a coffee mug and don't really need a kettle.
