Stevo asked Which drill/impact set do you recommend?
I've decided to buy either the rigid x4 or dewalt combo kits, I will be using them regularly for the next couple months and then probably be used sparingly after that. The big difference I notice is that the rigid drills are more powerful and include Li ion batteries where the dewalt set includes Ni Cad. Also the rigid comes with a lifetime service agreement which apparently means free batteries, free parts, free service for life. Seems like rigid is the winner but is it a quality tool? My concern is which battery type will have a longer lifetime, and how will they hold up when I am not using them regularly? Thanks for your advice, I appreciate it! Here are the drills I am considering, I live in Canada so the price for each set is $180. http://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-18-Volt-X4-Hyper-Lithium-Ion-Drill-Driver-and-Impact-Driver-Combo-Kit-2-Tool-R9600/203266851#product_description http://www.homedepot.com/p/t/100647068?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&storeId=10051&N=4j2Z5yc1v&R=100647068#specifications
And got the following answer:
The difference is quality is a definitely in favor of the Rigid brand over deWalt. Both are good or better brands and are well established companies. I've used both brands in the past and several others these are both top of the line. Handle both one may fit your hand better than the other
