Jocelyn L asked What's the best cordless drill?

If anyone happens to have a Consumer Reports subscription, can you tell me what they rank the best cordless drill? I don't know squat about drills and it's what my husband wants for x-mas. Thanks.

And got the following answer:

Well, anything DeWalt. Somethings, especially tools, are good to buy name brand. It really depends on what your going to do with as to which one to pick out. DeWalts will last forever and withstand some SERIOUS abuse. I know this because I used to work in heating and air, I have had to carry a drill under houses, in attics, drop them from attics onto concrete. I have actually seen one drill drop all the way from the peak of a 15-foot ceiling that was still open, into the deep end of an empty pool (at least 10 more feet) and still run when we got it out.
