matthew m asked what kind of wire do I need to buy?

I am going to install LED lights in my car under the dash, along with adding a toggle switch in my car. I have never messed around with wires before, so I plan on doing a few dry runs with spare LEDs and switches to make sure I get the soldering down before messing up my cars wiring. I have everything I need (I believe). I have solder, a soldering iron, a toggle switch, and the LEDs. I believe all I need now is the right kind of wire and a power supply. So my LEDs just have a positive and negative wire on them, and they aren't quite long enough by themselves, so I will need to purchase extra wire and extend them. I also don't exactly understand the concept of a ground wire. It seems you splice the ground with the negative wire, and then connect the ground to any metal object (a screw). Like I said I have never done this before, but plan on testing it out a lot before making any rash decisions to not visit a local shop. Any information/advice would be appreciated. thanks.

And got the following answer:

LED's use very little current. Use 28 gage wire. You can also buy LED mounting hardware at Radio Shack. Its a simple little plastic holder that the LED slides into then the drill a hole for it to be pressed into tightly with your fingers.
