Check your sump pump to see how much power it draws. I have one that uses less than 500 watts, but it's only a 1/6 horsepower motor (it pumps up to 950 gallons per hour). You can, of course run a pump that uses less than 500 watts. Obviously, the lower the pump's wattage, the longer it will run on a given battery's full charge. You can also get battery-powered pumps, although they tend to be expensive.
