swizzlenutz asked What's the best generator for a small scale operation.?
I need a generator capable of running a rotary hammer drill, possibly 2 drills at most. I'm looking for small, quiet, and durable. It will be left outside year round so winterizing tips and winter running tips are appreciated. Thanx
And got the following answer:
I'd recommend one of the small inverter generators from Honda or Yamaha (like the EU2000 or EF2000) Put a cover over it when it's not in use. Some say the Yamaha is more durable because it has metal cam lobes. They are quiet and very fuel efficient. You could probably get away with a smaller 1000W generator, but the 2000W models aren't that much more expensive and give you a little more power to handle the startup current on your tools.
