ramya asked thermistor with high sensitivity?

hello frns.... i'm doing a project for which i need a thermistor which is highly sensitive..that is should detet even the minor changes in the temperature.so what do u thnk is the best for this..i have conducted the xperiment once using a general RT thermistor(the one which luks like a capicitor but a black one, which is easily available in the market)'but with that only greater temperature changes are been detected ( wherin i used an incandascent lamp)..n one more point is that...the thermistor that i have used is taking less time to detect hot bodies but taking quite a lot of time to detect colder bodies....so plz help me out in suggesting a best thermistor so that i can continue with my project...

And got the following answer:

Its the detection circuit that needs to be sensitive. Its unlikely you can use the sensor without some controller. The thermistor you have is probably fine although I would tend to recommend PT100's. They are inexpensive, fairly accurate and reliable. There are a number of commercial products you can use to control something from the PT100. Check out http://www.omega.com/
